NCLC provides legal advice regarding debts arising from motor vehicle accidents and disputes with insurance companies. NCLC may be able to assist older clients through advice and referrals to other legal services or organizations. Depending on your legal matter and our capacity and expertise, our centre may be able to assist you with other matters. To be eligible for case processing, a client must also have a reasonable prospect of success and the area of law must reside in the experience of our lawyers. NCLC can help survivors of domestic violence obtain domestic violence intervention orders and provides free legal advice and advocacy regarding divorce, visa abuse, child contact orders, victim compensation, rental rights, and domestic violence-related fines or debts. The Northern Community Legal Centre provides free and confidential legal advice and support to people who live, work or study in the local government areas of Moreland, Hume and Mitchell County Council. The Northern Community Legal Centre (NCLC) provides free and confidential legal advice in proximity locations in areas served by Moreland and Hume Local Government Areas, but during COVID, appointments are made by phone to ensure COVID safety. NCLC also coordinates duty counsel for survivor victims at Broadmeadows Magistrates` Court, providing on-site advice and limited legal representation. NCLC also participates in the Broadmeadows Trial Court`s Early Resolution Service, which aims to bring cases to counsel quickly to provide more opportunities for negotiation and settlement between parties prior to trial.

NCLC advises on eligibility and the process for applying to the Victims of Crime Court for victims of violent crime that took place in Victoria. We may be able to help with other cases or provide advice and referrals to other legal services and organisations. NCLC prioritizes victims of domestic violence and provides counselling through its multi-site domestic violence clinics. NCLC may be able to assist priority clients by providing advice and referrals to other legal services and organizations. NCLC has limited resources and cannot help everyone. NCLC will prioritize supporting members of our community who face several systemic barriers to justice in their legal affairs, including those who: Equal access to justice for all in North West Melbourne. Northern Community Legal Centre recognises Wurundjeri Gunung-Willam Balluk as a traditional guardian We can provide migration counselling to women on temporary visas who are victims of domestic violence. This includes women on partner visas and other forms of temporary visas. We provide family law advice on family law matters, including divorce, parenthood, property and spousal support. · Mental illness, disability or cognitive impairment We can provide assistance to priority customers who have multiple traffic, toll, parking, transit and other types of offenses. NCLC can advise you on minimum rights, responsibilities and rights under Australian employment laws. We can advise priority clients who have been appointed to provide criminal advice in criminal matters.

The NCLC`s Safe Landing project includes migration counselling for women on temporary visas who experience domestic violence to provide an integrated response that allows women and children to remain safely in Australia.
